After the tremendous success of past years, this year’s MuseumNext conference will have an open stage session where everyone (you!) can participate. Time: the afternoon of Friday 20 June 2014.
The format this year is that you can get a 5-minute slot to give a presentation or short talk, show a video, give a demonstration or even do a little performance. Everything is welcome that inspires, entertains or engages your audience of peers.
To reserve your slot, send me an email before 31 May 2014 with a short pitch about what you want to do. 10 words is enough (but more is better). Make sure your idea aligns with the format of the open stage (details below). Slots will be awarded based on quality and variety.
Please note that you need a ticket for MuseumNext to participate.
MuseumNext’s open stage is a high-paced and mixed programme of short talks, videos, demos and – hopefully – some performances in which you can and will participate, as star and audience. Expect fresh ideas, a good laugh and new connections. Bring your camera, snacks and best possible mood and join the celebration of museum innovation.
In the past we’ve heard about museums without electricity, met ambitious young professionals, seen previews of projects, listened personal stories and marvelled at bold ideas. Check out the photos to get a sense of what participation at MuseumNext looks like.
If you’re one of these people who can only go to conferences when you contribute, this is your chance! Let me know if I can help you make this possible. Note that slots are limited and do sell out.
See you in Newcastle!
